Aquarium Technician Position

Dallas Aquarium Experts is accepting resumes for the position of Aquarium Service Technician. Dallas Aquarium Experts is centrally located in Plano, Texas and provides aquarium maintenance services to Dallas North Aquariums. We were established in 2010 and have continued to grow year after year. Our continued growth is the reason we are hiring an additional aquarium service technician. This is a Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm position, initially the hours available may will range from 32 to 40 depending on our rate of growth, your existing knowledge of aquariums, as well as your ability to successfully to perform job tasks.

Customer Service

Strong communication skills are essential to being successful in this position, both in with regards to daily interactions with aquarium service clients as well as the follow of information within the organization. As an example, every day you should expect to review the previous day’s aquarium service maintenance appointments to discuss the aquarium service in detail; overall aquarium condition, water chemistry test results, client concerns or wants, any current issues that need to be addressed, future potential issues and forward-thinking strategies specific to each client with the owner. Our goal is to give our clients the highest level of satisfaction therefore each aquarium maintenance service visit gets reviewed and discussed between the aquarium service technician and the owner to ensure aquarium are maintained to Dallas Aquarium Experts standards.

Even if you love Aquariums, being a Service Technician is hard work!

The daily tasks performed as an aquarium service technician is physically hard work. Water is heavy 8.35 pounds per gallon, a full 5-gallon water jug weighs 41.75 pounds. Everyday as a service technician, you will be moving water while performing water changes at each aquarium maintenance service visit. Sometimes we use 5-gallon jugs on small freshwater aquarium service visits or sometimes we pump the water from a service vehicle when performing saltwater maintenance service on large commercial or residential aquariums. Scraping algae off the glass with an algae magnet is hard repetitive job. You have to be able to bend over into aquariums to hydro vac the substrate during water changes and adjust aqua-scaping.

Hiring Aquarium Service Technicians

We are an aquarium maintenance service company staffed with passionate aquarium enthusiasts who enjoy continually learning about aquariums and gaining daily experience. We are creating a team with truly passionate, successful, experienced, aquarists. Our time-proven aquarium service technicians are afforded flexibility when problem solving and forward thinking saltwater aquarium maintenance strategies falling within our overall company policies, strategies and methods.

Once you get to that point, you are basically working on multiple aquarium service client’s aquariums through out the day. Dallas Aquarium Experts Aquarium Service Technicians drive between aquarium maintenance service visits in a company service vehicle. An average 9 to 5 day Monday through Friday, usually consists of 4 to 6 aquarium maintenance service visits.

Custom Aquarium Delivery, Installation, and Make Ready

Once the aquarium set up is out of production and ready to be delivered, we will then install and set up the aquarium including life support systems. We also have the ability to deliver aquarium set-ups and aquarium supplies to customers anywhere within the contiguous United States. After installing the new custom aquarium set up, we will provide the highest quality freshwater fish, saltwater fish, and coral. Then we will begin with regularly scheduled aquarium maintenance service.

Our facility was designed to receive, quarantine, and house the highest quality freshwater fish, saltwater fish, and coral. Aquarium Service Technicians bring selected livestock out to our client’s aquariums and begin an acclimation process.
